To aid life, leaving it free, however, is the basic task of the educator.
—Maria Montessori

Casita de Montessori is a carefully prepared environment that fulfills the physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional needs of the child. Beautiful, inviting, and thoughtfully arranged, this home embodies each element of Dr. Maria Montessori’s revolutionary approach. All the while, offering a safe and stimulating place for a child to reach his or her highest potential and inspiring your peace of mind.

Casita de Montessori recognizes that each young child follows a unique path of development that is guided by his “inner teacher”. He requires uninterrupted periods of work, absorbs knowledge through the sensorial exploration of his environment, and has the human tendency to contribute to his community. For these reasons we ensure objective observations that lead to accurately understanding the specific needs of each individual. We follow a schedule that supports, respects, and protects the child’s concentration. We encourage hands-on interaction with the indoor and outdoor environments. And, we guide the child through the education of his character.

Casita de Montessori provides care for children in two distinct settings, separating them by developmental stages: approximately two months to seventeen months and eighteen months to four years, with additional curricula for non-napping, preschool age children. Each space presents opportunities for real, purposeful, daily Practical Life activities. The environment houses developmental aids constructed of natural materials that challenge the psycho-sensory motor abilities. Through the use of specially selected equipment the outdoor environment stimulates the exertion of the child’s maximum physical effort. This environment promotes concentration and independence at all developmental levels, from infant through “preschool” age. Grace and Courtesy is a key element in the application of the Montessori Method and is certainly modeled and instructed at every interaction.
